ENGINEER UNIT COMMANDER      An ID Card from the "Big War". This Captain commanded an Engineer Company until he was promoted to Major. Then he commanded a battalion until he was hit, gassed and med evaced. They did not have the system to repair war wounds that we had and he never really got well. And no Purple Hearts, rather he wore wound hash marks on the sleeve of his uniform. A good man, I knew him well and wish I had know him better.
